/Welcome to the Future /218 /Events, Livestreams and new releases 01-Jul 2022

Into the second half of 2022, and the new releases continue to flood in.

Anyway. This post is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Releases out today or recently

/Album of the Week
30-Jun 2022 / Amnistia / We All Bleed Red /Bandcamp
German “bodywave” band Amnistia are back with their latest release, with thumpingly loud (and precisely produced) industrial that has an impressive depth to the sound, but never forgets songcraft either.

24-Jun 2022 / Greg Puciato / Mirrorcell /Bandcamp
Continuing the thread of his post-Dilinger career thus far, Puciato seems to want to try every style at least once, and somehow pulls it off – even tipping into full-on Alice in Chains worship.
01-Jul 2022 / Then Comes Silence / Hunger /Bandcamp
Swedish goth rockers Then Comes Silence back with their latest album, which picks up from the excellent Machine – so huge hooks, slick production and some of the best modern goth rock around.

01-Jul 2022 / Pitchshifter / Infotainment? /Spotify
Finally, Pitchshifter’s 1996 stepping stone gets added to streaming services. This was where they started developing their best-known sound, dabbling with drum’n’bass and cleaner vocals, and features long-time live favourite Virus.

25-Jun 2022 / Pneumatic Detach / Deathgift /Bandcamp / Buried Under Brimstone / Bandcamp
Justin Brink’s much-loved Pneumatic Detach returns after a nearly fifteen year silence, with a thumping pair of tracks that sound familiar but…different. His unusual percussive style remains, but everything else feels that much more upfront.
29-Jun 2022 / Displacer & Nimon / Inferno /Bandcamp
Michael Morton and Keef Baker dig into the archives for two previously unreleased tracks.
01-Jul 2022 / Null Device / Flags /Flags
A quietly furious political single from Null Device, backed with an unexpectedly restrained Klack remix.

/Upcoming releases announced this past week

09-Sep 2022 / Bloodbath / Survival Of The Sickest /Bandcamp
The death metal supergroup are back.
23-Sep 2022 / Cold Gawd / God Get Me the Fuck Out of Here /Bandcamp
A fascinating, upcoming album from a black shoegaze band, who appear to have a lot to say on important matters.
23-Sep 2022 / FTR / Vicky Vivid Experience /Bandcamp
French post-punk shoegaze that promises a lot.
23-Sep 2022 / GAEREA / Mirage /Bandcamp
This band are new to me, but the ferocious single Salve has my full attention. Masked, Portuguese Black Metallers who have an impressive, relentless sound.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
