/Welcome to the Future/210/Events, Livestreams and new releases 29-Apr 2022

Hopefully back to weekly postings from now on, and probably a good thing, judging by the enormous number of releases being covered this week.

The post, then, is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others and also catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Album of the Week
/29-Apr 2022 / SCALPING / Void /Bandcamp
Bristol industrial-rock-techno crew SCALPING have been building a buzz through some formidable singles and a reputedly scorching (and deafeningly loud) live show – and they release their debut album today, which builds on previous work to create a sound quite unlike anyone else. They play a headline show at fabric (gulp) next week, that I’ll be at.

Sakis Tolis turns away a little from Rotting Christ for a solo album that takes some unexpected turns.
/15-Apr 2022 / Apache Helicopter / No Tribe EP /Spotify
Martial industrial out of Kent.
/15-Apr 2022 / The Crystal Method / The Trip Out /Streaming Links
The thundering Big Beat power of The Crystal Method brings in a host of guest vocalists.
/22-Apr 2022 / Blind Passenger / Teamwork /Bandcamp
German electro-pop with a host of collaborations.
/22-Apr 2022 / Bob Vylan / Bob Vylan Presents The Price of Life /Bandcamp
Searing, political punk-grime that has rightly gained a lot of attention.

The latest aural weaponry from Greyhound.
/22-Apr 2022 / I Speak Machine / War /Bandcamp
A number of people I know have been absolutely raving about this album, and initial listens suggest the hype is correct. Fascinating electro-industrial-trip-hop is probably about as good a description I can give right now…
/22-Apr 2022 / In The Nursery / Humberstone /Bandcamp
Sheffield’s legendary industrialists continue their explorations.
/22-Apr 2022 / Kathryn Joseph / for you who are the wronged /Bandcamp
Even more introspective than her last album, but no less fascinating and elegant.
/22-Apr 2022 / LAST DAYS OF S.E.X. / Overstimulation /Bandcamp
Like Greyhound, more brutal noise from HANDS.
/22-Apr 2022 / Spiritualized / Everything Was Beautiful /Bandcamp
Being lauded as the best Spiritualized album in a couple of decades (yes, since that one) is some accolade – I’ve held off listening to it until I buy it this weekend…
/22-Apr 2022 / synapscape / The Stable Mind /Bandcamp
Synapscape continue their quest to sound like no-one else on ant-zen and elsewhere.
/22-Apr 2022 / Undeath / It’s Time…To Rise From The Grave /Bandcamp
Quite simply the best death metal I’ve heard this year.
/22-Apr 2022 / Various Artists / FORMS OF HANDS 21 /Bandcamp
A belter of a comp this year for the returning festival.
/23-Apr 2022 / The Lord / Forest Nocturne /Bandcamp

A sprawling re-issue and remaster of the 2005 IRIS album.
/29-Apr 2022 / Rammstein / Zeit /Official Artist Store
After a decade between albums last time, lockdown has given us the next after just three. It’s Rammstein, what else do I need to say?
/29-Apr 2022 / Röyksopp / Profound Mysteries /Official Artist Store
More from the ever-wonderful Röyksopp at last.
/29-Apr 2022 / Tenebra / Moongazer /Cargo Records
Italian stoner metal that absolutely kicks.
/29-Apr 2022 / Watain / The Agony & Ecstasy of Watain /Bandcamp
Swedish Black Metal villains Watain are back with an album as dramatic as the title.
/30-Apr 2022 / Crystal Geometry / I Stare Into Darkness /Bandcamp
Industrial techno that leans into using guitars? Hmm…

/29-Apr 2022 / downset. / The Place to be /Spotify
The LA rap/hardcore heroes return with a piledriving new single, their first in an age.

Orbital take a different approach to mark 30 years.
/15-Jul 2022 / Stephen Mallinder / tick tick tick /Bandcamp
Mal returns with another album of apparently varied sounds, the lead single is fantastic.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.
