/Welcome to the Future/204/Events, Livestreams and new releases 18-Feb 2022

Another busy week of releases and announcements, as I try to keep up…

The post, then, is a roundup of (relevant to this site) new and upcoming music, a nod to upcoming events and livestreams both from this website and others, and also a catchup of what I’ve posted recently. Thanks to everyone who sends me new music and events, keeps me up to speed, and indeed simply reads these posts.

/Events, Livestreams and new releases 18-Feb 2022
/Previous /203/11-Feb /202/04-Feb /201/28-Jan

/transmission – the amodelofcontrol.com podcast – has returned, continuing the run through of the a-z of industrial, with all episodes thus far are here. The latest episode is /transmission/024, which starts on the letter P. /transmission/025 will follow soon – at last!

You can also get it via RSS, on iTunes, on Stitcher, and is also now available on the Google Podcasts App (search “amodelofcontrol”) and Spotify too.

If you want to submit anything to be included here? E-mail me (You know what to do with that to make it work, right?), comment/message on Facebook at the amodelofcontrol.com page, and over on Twitter (@amodelofcontrol).

/Contents

/Releases out today or recently

/11-Feb 2022 / Soman / Vision /Resurrection Records
The first album in nearly a decade from this industrial-dance legend.
/14-Feb 2022 / BELLHEAD / Nothing As It Seems EP /Bandcamp
The two-bass duo release an EP of remixes from some big names.
/14-Feb 2022 / ESA / Designer Carnage /Bandcamp
Jamie Blacker returns with another thundering, powerful release, but there are some intriguing ideas and new directions within (including electroswing-power electronics and doomy jazz, no less).
/14-Feb 2022 / Godspeed You! Black Emperor / all lights fucked on the hairy amp drooling /Bandcamp
The near-mythical “original” GY!BE release surfaced the other week, and the band have now released it properly, although they don’t seem especially pleased about it (although perhaps resigned to it happening, I guess).
/16-Feb 2022 / Alice Glass / PREY//IV /Streaming Links
Alice Glass at last releases her debut solo album.
/18-Feb 2022 / And So I Watch You From Afar / Jettison /Velocity Records store
The energetic post-rock band return once again.
/18-Feb 2022 / The Birthday Massacre / Fascination /Bandcamp
The Goth-darkwave-pop band have now been around for two decades (!), and their latest is an excellent return to form.
/18-Feb 2022 / The Body & OAA / Enemy of Love /Bandcamp
The Body continue their descent and exploration into aural savagery, this time with producer OAA.

/Upcoming releases announced this past week

/08-Apr 2022 / HEALTH / DISCO4 :: PART II /Bandcamp
The much-anticipated second round of HEALTH collaborations has finally been announced, and the list of bands on it is quite something. Newly released as part of the announcement is a bruising collaboration with Lamb of God.
/15-Apr 2022 / Trace Amount / Anti-Body Language /Federal Prisoner Store
Newly signed to Greg Puciato’s label Federal Prisoner, brutal industrial experimentalism is coming.

/Upcoming/Livestreams/Gigs/Club Nights/Events

Obviously, things change at short notice right now, and I’m updating events as they are postponed or cancelled, and also including relevant Livestreams as they are announced.

/amodelofcontrol.com continues to maintain an events calendar, but it has now moved to /amodelofcontrol.com/events – and is now a dynamic, searchable database, and you can add individual events to your own calendars. I’m currently fixing a couple of minor backend issues, so new events may not be added promptly, or be added sporadically.

If you have updates, relevant events for me, or want to tell me about something else, use the contact details above. It goes without saying that any gig or club still in the listing is subject to change at short notice, or may not happen at all.

/amodelofcontrol.com/next week

There is unlikely to be a /Tuesday Ten this coming week, simply as I have other pressures on my time. There are two interviews in the works, though, look out for those in due course. In addition, you may see some pages on the site change as I have been undertaking some work to tidy up quite a bit of the site (streamlining the style of some sections, replacing broken links, etc).

Coming up tonight, /A Certain Shade of Green/004 goes back down the 90s metal clubbing rabbit hole, and /TheKindaMzkYouLike/018 continues the alternative livestreams on 08-Mar.
